CT scan may be requested to further evaluate the bony anatomy and the insides of your sinus cavities, which are not easily visualized with nasal endoscopy alone. Many of our offices have an In-office CT Scanner available. Our in-office CT scanner provides images with much lower radiation exposure than conventional CT scanners, while providing equal information about your sinus disease. Patients are seated upright without any tight enclosures. Most importantly, having in-office CT imaging allows patients to conveniently review their scan immediately with their doctor in order to better understand their condition and treatment options. If surgery is recommended, the CT images can be used intra-operatively as guidance to increase safety during sinus surgery.
